FILMING AT THE SOCIETY 

The Society's many properties have been used in photo shots and several television shows, independent films, and major motion pictures.  Our facilities are well suited to those interested in the charm and natural beauty for which Long Island's North Fork is known.  The Society is always interested in having it's properties used and publicized in a way that respects the integrity of the structures and beautiful grounds that surround them.

The Society's Museum Complex contains 18 period buildings that help define the history of the area, including the Thomas Moore House (b. 1750).  From a working blacksmith shop to an elegant Victorian residence, the Society's buildings offer a variety of types that can be used in a host of different manners.

The Henry W. Prince Building (b. 1874) is a National Register property and is one of the oldest commercials structures still standing on the North Fork.  It is an ideal location for exterior filming or photo shoots, being close both to the Long Island Railroad Station and Route's 48 and 25.

The Society also operates the Horton Point Lighthouse in association with the Southold Park District.  Constructed in 1857, the Lighthouse and the beautiful vistas that surround it creates a stunning setting for any film or photographic shoot.  The noted fashion magazine Vogue recently completed a shoot here.
