SOUTHOLD HISTORICAL SOCIETY TO HOST GARDEN TOUR
Southold, NY. The Southold Historical Society will host
a Garden Tour, Saturday July 9 (rain date July 10). Eight local gardens will be
featured during a self-guided tour from noon until 4 p.m.
From 11:00-11:30 a.m. Dr. Mark Bridgen, Professor of
Horticulture at Cornell University assigned to Cornell’s Horticulture Research
Center in Riverhead will speak. His topic will be Herbaceous Perennial Plants
for Southold Gardens. Following that the Southold Town Garden Club will serve
refreshments. This portion of the tour will take place at the Pine Neck Barn,
Maple Lane & Main Road, Southold.
Tickets and maps are on sale for $20 in advance or $25 day of
the tour at the Society’s Prince Building Monday- Friday from 9:00 – 3:00 p.m.
and on Saturday at the Museum Gift Shop 10:00 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tickets will also be
available on the day of the tour from 10:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m. at the Prince
Building.
