Experience living history by participating in activities at the Revolutionary War Encampment on Columbus Day Weekend (October 8-9). The complex will come alive with patriot soldiers marching and tending to their daily chores. On Sunday, October 30, the complex will be lit with carved pumpkins with “candles” lit the Pumpkin Patch. We will put a “candle” in each pumpkin so we’ll have a “spooky” array of pumpkin faces for all to see.
Come to the Harvest Dinner on October 20 to share good food and conversation with friends and neighbors. One October 22, community members will share ideas about preservation at the Ann Currie-Bell House at a symposium SHS is hosting for the Southold Landmark and Preservation Committee along with the Peconic Land Trust. Your presence at both the dinner and symposium would be most welcomed.
Hope to see you soon at the Fall activities planned for SHS members.
