ASCHS TRIP to the New York Historical Society

Saturday, November 4, 2017

Join with fellow members of ASCHS (Association of Suffolk County Historical Societies) to visit new and permanent exhibits at the New York Historical Society.

The fee includes:

Round trip Jitney bus in Calverton

60-minute guided tour of the new exhibit American Visionary

Full-day admission to all exhibits

Admission to film New York Story

10% discount at museum store

Voucher for reduced admission on future visit

FEE: $50 per person (lunch on your own, list of nearby restaurants will be provided)

ITINERARY

  • 8:00 am - Pickup Hampton Jitney Terminal

  • 253 Edwards Ave., Calverton, NY

  • 10:00 am - Drop-off N.Y. Historical Society

  • 170 Central Park West, New York, NY

  • 10:30 am - Private, 60-minute guided tour of American Visionary: John F. Kennedy's Life and Times. Kennedy's administration coincided with a golden age of photojournalism. No single politician was photographed more than Kennedy---from his first congressional bid as a war hero in 1946 and his fairy-tale wedding to Jacqueline Bouvier in 1953 to his run for the While House in 1960 and his tragic death in Dallas in 1963. There will also be Highlights from the Permanent Collection.

  • 11:30 am-noon - Membership meeting (Conference Room)

  • Noon-1:30 - Lunch on your own (NYHS has a nice cafe)

  • 1:30pm-3:45pm Time to view exhibits at the historical society

  • 4:00 pm - Pickup New York Historical Society

  • 6:00 pm - Drop-off Hampton Jitney Terminal
