September Calendar

Dear Members,

Are you a doll collector? Do you like to cook using old recipes? Are you a craftsperson who is intrigued by weaving? On your free time, do you enjoy woodworking?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, please become a “guest curator” at our Museum Complex. Our doll collection in the Ann Currie-Bell House, the Open Hearth Kitchen and the Loom Room in the Thomas Moore House, and the Woodworking Shop in the Pine Neck Barn all need your interest and enthusiasm to tell their stories.

Our collection is the heart of Southold Historical Society. In each of our museum houses, we exhibit our parts of our collection for all to see and enjoy. To add to this enjoyment, the collection’s stories must be told through interpretation of the artifacts and the houses. A guest curator will have the opportunity “to go behind the scenes” to explore the collection and then create the story of his/her favorite exhibit.

If you would like to participate in the historical society’s projects by becoming a guest curator, please contact me at 631.765.5500.
