PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

“North Fork in Color Exhibit to Open in Southold”

SOUTHOLD, NY. The Southold Historical Society is pleased to announce it is hosting an exhibition of original paintings by the North Fork artists group “Cloud 9” entitled “North Fork in Color.” The exhibit will be held at the Society’s Reichert Family Center’s Cosden-Price Gallery. The group is known for their landscape and seascape works, which document the beauty and personality of the North Fork.

This exhibit of original paintings will be on display from September 14 through September 28, 2014 in the gallery, which is located at 54127 Main Road, Southold, NY. The opening reception – which is open to the public – will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Gallery on Friday, September 19th.

The group includes well-known local artists, including Adelaide Amend, B. L. Moyle, Dolores Castrucci, Ann McCaughey, Fran Reichert, and Laurie Ullmann. The group remark that they are privileged to live in “this rich pastoral setting surrounded by water, where the light and colors are constantly changing.” They have worked together for many years and meet monthly to both study, support, critique and share their collective knowledge concerning traditional painting. According to the group, “support and critique are key to our collaboration.”

The exhibit will be on display at the Society’s Reichert Family Center’s Cosden-Price Gallery at 54127 Main Road, Southold, from September 14 through September 28, 2014, Wednesday-Sunday, 1-5 pm, closed Monday and Tuesdays.
