Summer is finally here! SHS is ready to celebrate our past, present and future with you. The Museum Complex will be open for your visits, starting on July 2 with special tours (1-4pm) and children’s activities at 2pm. Our new exhibition in the Ann Currie-Bell House, School Girls and Their Samplers, celebrates the skill of very young girls who lived a very long time ago right here in Southold.
Our Summer Gala is a celebration of good friends, good wine and good food. Our future depends on fundraisers like our Gala so we can continue to provide the members and community with interesting programming and activities.
The restoration of the Linotype is a celebration that brings together ideas from the past, present and future. With the Linotype we can see how printing was done in the past and compare that to the present and wonder about how printing will be done in the future.
I hope to see you at the Lighthouse for a climb to the tower, at the complex for a tour of the houses and at the Reichert Center for a look at the shipwrecks!
